Carole  Jeanne Walker

On Friday, March 12, 2021, Carole Walker, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at the age of 74. Carole was born on May 18, 1946, in Goose Creek, Texas, to Frances and Deward Johnson.  She graduated from Stephen F. Austin University, and she was a devoted elementary teacher for over 30 years, starting in Dallas but spending most of her time teaching in Caddo Mills, Texas. On December 19, 1970, she married her eternal companion, David Walker.  They raised one son, Jason Eric.

Carole led a life of service, in her work, church callings, and personal life.  She was known as a kind, caring individual who recognized the worth of every soul she met. Her smile was genuine, and it helped her greet and comfort so many people throughout her life. Her love for family was evident in her devotion to family history.  She recognized the value of knowing her ancestors and sharing that information with future generations.  Carole had a passion for travel.  She loved to see new places and go on road trips with family and friends.

Carole is preceded in death by her husband, David, her mother, Frances, and her father, Deward.  She is survived by her son and his wife, Jason and Sandi, their daughter, Jillian, her brother and his wife, Ronald and Winno Johnson, and several loving in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
