Warren Hope

Warren Clyde Hope, age 75, of Greenville, went to be with his Lord on July 14, 2009 at the Hunt Regional Medical Center at Greenville. He was born to Clyde H. and Lillian N. (Wafford) Hope on April 23, 1934 in Celina, Texas. After graduation from Sherman High School, Warren briefly served in the United States Navy. He then began his career at the Herald Democrat in Sherman before moving to Greenville to work for the Herald Banner. In June 1965 he branched off from the Herald Banner to start his own paper, the Hunt County Shopper. He owned and operated the shopper for the last 45 years. It became his heart, soul and dedication and a fixture in the Greenville business community. Warren was a member of the Kiwanis Club and Park Street Baptist Church but his favorite hours were spent at the golf course swinging clubs and building friendships. Warren is survived by his long time companion, Pat Hope; daughters, Sharon Kring, and husband David, of Sherman and Angie Wilkinson of Greenville; grandchildren, Chris Hope, Ashley Lee, Geoffrey Kring, Nikki Lenz, and Mystery Wilkinson; sister, Doris OBrien of Sherman; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Allen Hope; one brother, Clinton Hope; and four sisters, Juanita Hope, Almeta Nelson, Neva Baxter, and Mary Joe Adamson. Services for Warren will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 17, 2009 at Park Street Baptist Church in Greenville with Pastor Jonnie Hailes officiating. Burial will follow at Memoryland Cemetery with grandsons, Chris Hope and Geoffrey Kring, and nephews, Randy OBrien, Joe Bob Adamson, Gary Nelson, and Ricky Adamson serving as pallbearers. Bo Hartline, Woody Woodruff, Gerald Hope, Tommy Hope and the Sunday School Class at Park Street Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6 " 8 P.M. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
