Wanda Gay Williams, beloved wife, mother, nana, and great grandmother, passed away on January 31, 2024, in Greenville, Texas. She was born on June 17, 1947, in the same town she called home throughout her life.

Wanda was a loving and caring individual who dedicated her life to taking care of people. As a retired hairdresser, she touched the lives of many with her exceptional skills and warm-hearted nature. Wanda found joy in making people feel about themselves and would above and beyond to ensure her clients left her salon with a smile on their faces.

Beyond her professional achievements, Wanda had a mischievous side that will forever be remembered. She loved playing pranks on people and had a unique talent for bringing laughter into any situation. Her vibrant personality lit up the room wherever she went. Wanda's humorous nature created countless cherished memories that will be shared for generations to come.

One of her proudest accomplishments was marrying Jimmie Williams in Greenville, Texas on January 8, 1966. Their love and dedication served as an inspiration to all who knew them. Jimmie was not only Wanda's husband but also her best friend and confidant throughout their remarkable journey together. Their bond stood the test of time and will continue to serve as a testament to true love.

Wanda leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will forever live on through her family. She is survived by her husband Jimmie Williams; their children Desha Williams and Jason Williams along with his wife Rebecca; grandchildren Sydni D Sugg and husband Matthew Elkins, daughter-in-love; Patricia Williams and husband Rex Underhill;  Paden A. Williams, Zachary Hoffman and his wife Lilley, Michaela Follis and her husband Don, Jordan Freeman; great-grandchildren Trinity Follis, Kayden Follis, Lila Rose Elkins, Sister; Diane Harris and spouse, Lynn Harris;  and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Wanda is preceded in death by her father; William Smith, Mother; Oneta Smith, Sister; Nancy Zollar, Brother; Kelley Ray Smith, and Mother in law; Eva Ruth Williams.

Wanda's dedication to her family knew no bounds. She showered them with unconditional love, always putting their needs before her own. Her presence brought a sense of comfort, and her wisdom served as a guiding light for those fortunate enough to have known her. Wanda's family will forever cherish the memories they shared with her, from the laughter-filled gatherings to the heartfelt conversations that shaped their lives.

A Memorial Service will be held in honor of Wanda Gay Williams on February 5, 2024. The service will take place at Peters Funeral Home located at 4201 Wellington St., Greenville, Texas. The gathering will begin at 3:00 PM and conclude at 4:00 PM as friends and loved ones come together to celebrate Wanda's remarkable life.

Wanda Gay Williams was an extraordinary woman who embodied love, humor, and kindness. Her legacy will forever shine brightly in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her. As we bid farewell to our dear Wanda, let us remember the joy she brought into our lives and continue sharing that same warmth with others.
