Wallace Stone

Wallace C. Stone, 87 passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at his home in Greenville, Texas. W.C. was born in Graham, Kentucky to Victor and Norma Stone on January 1, 1925. W.C. married Clementine Warren on January 6, 1947 in Louisville, Kentucky. To this union was born a daughter, Pamela. W.C. served his country with honor in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked for over thirty years for MKT Railroad in Various positions, retiring as a yardmaster. W.C. was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and a master gardener. He had a green thumb and loved to make things grow. But his greatest joy was his family. W.C. loved to spend time with his beloved wife, children, grandchildren and great-great grandchild. W. C. was a devout Christian. He served as deacon in several churches in the area and was a member of the Highland Terrace Baptist Church. His love for his Lord and Savior was evident in his every action of every day. He will truly be missed. W. C. is preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Norma; two brother and three sisters; as well as his step-son, Joe Bill Henning. Those left to celebrate his life include his wife of 65 years, Clementine; his daughter Pamela Duquette and her husband Joel; grandchildren, Courtney Duquette, Warren Duquette, Rhonda Bennett and Richard Henning; three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; his brother, Bill Stone; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as extended family, friends and neighbors. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Peters Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held the following day, Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Highland Terrace Baptist Church in Greenville, Texas. Reverend Royce Litchfield will officiate. Interment will immediately follow the service at IOOF Cemetery in Caddo Mills, Texas.
