Verna Luray Earle

Verna “Luray” Earle, 92 of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on Saturday January 20, 2024. She was born on October 3, 1931, in Brownfield, Texas, to Lorenzo Dow and Hazel Bullard. Verna graduated from Lubbock High School and pursued clerical studies at Amarillo College. Verna dedicated 30 plus years of her career as a secretary with the Amarillo Independent School District. She was known for her impeccable organizational skills and commitment to her work. Outside of her professional life, Verna has a passion for sewing and was renowned for her excellent seamstress skills. She also had a green thumb and found joy in gardening. Verna was a member of the Greenlawn Church of Christ in Lubbock, Texas, where she found solace and community. Her faith was an important aspect of her life.

Verna is survived by her loving Children: Donna Graham (Jimmy), Rhonda Reeves (Randy), Terri Salisbury (Bill), and son Robert Nolan Earle (Emma). She is also survived by her sister, Bonnie Scott, eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Verna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alvin E Earle, her parents Lorenzo Dow and Hazel Bullard, her sisters Marjorie Watts, and her brother, Elwin Bullard.

Graveside services will be held at Sullivan Historical Cemetery in Campbell, Texas, on January 27, 2024. The funeral arrangements are being handled by Peters Funeral Home in Greenville, Texas. Verna will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her kindness, dedication, and talent will be remembered fondly by those whose lives she touched.
