Travis Kirk

Travis Eugene Kirk passed away November 26, 2017, in Texarkana, Texas. He was born October 9, 1932 in Malakoff, Texas.

Kirk graduated from Troup High School, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a resident in Greenville almost 60 years.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Bettye Bell Kirk and Brucilla Neal kirk, and his daughter, Kathie Lynn Odeneal.

Kirk is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Tony and Amy Kirk, of Texarkana; grandchildren, Stephen, Kellie, Cayce, Grayson, and Olivia; brother, Jerry; and sister, Willie Peral. He was employed by E-Systems for more than 35 years as an aircraft painter and supervisor. He spent 5 years in the Sinai region of the Middle east as part of the Sinai Field Mission. Kirk was also a mason for more than 50 years.

Travis and Bettye were long time members of Park Street Baptist Church, and he and Brucilla were members of Kavanaugh Methodist Church.

Kirk enjoyed sports, travel, garage sales, and the Greenville Entertainment Series with his family and friends. For many years he began the day with friends at the Royal Drive-in and later at McDonalds.

Visitation will be from 5-7p.m., Thursday, at Peters Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home with a short graveside service following at Memoryland Memorial Park.
