Timothy Calvin Cooper

Timothy Calvin Cooper, a cherished member of the community and devoted family man, passed away on December 18, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on February 6, 1950, in Dinuba, California, Timothy’s life was defined by his deep love for nature, music, and the companionship of dogs. He was the son of Colonel Chaplain Calvin Cooper and Anne Hogan Cooper, both of whom have predeceased him.

Timothy's upbringing in a military family took him across various locales, instilling in him a sense of adaptability and a unique ability to form connections with those around him. Upon settling in Texas in 1973, he quickly became known as an individual who never met a stranger, easily attracting friends and creating lasting relationships throughout his life.

He graduated high school in Dover, Delaware, and later attended Oklahoma State University in Enid, Oklahoma. In 2013, Timothy retired from a successful career with the City of Plano, where his commitment to service was evident in every endeavor he undertook. Among his proudest accomplishments was his role as a Boy Scout leader, where he was able to inspire and guide young minds.

Timothy was a person of great spirit and intellect, being widely read and maintaining a strong sense of spirituality. He embraced life fully with a zest that resonated through his numerous hobbies and interests. An avid outdoorsman, Timothy found joy in boating, camping, and target shooting. Additionally, he possessed a deep appreciation for music and engaged in woodworking, often creating tangible expressions of his artistic talents.

Timothy is survived by his beloved wife, Laurie Swenson Cooper, and his sister, Kathleen Cooper Camp. He is also remembered fondly by his brother-in-law, Clyde Camp, and his nieces, Katheryn Camp Evens and Meghan Camp Hill.

His vibrant spirit and zest for life will be deeply missed, but his legacy of kindness, friendship, and dedication to the community will undoubtedly endure in the hearts of all who knew him. Timothy Calvin Cooper's journey may have come to an end, but the memories and impact he left on family and friends will forever be cherished.
