Thomas Wayne Goodman, 81, of Greenville passed away Monday, April 25 at his residence. Memorial service will be held 11:00am Saturday, April 30 at Highland Terrace Baptist Church with Dr. Chet Haney officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Peters Funeral Home.
Thomas was born July 3, 1934 in Dallas, Texas to James Leonard Goodman and Lydia Foster Goodman. He attended the Criswell College and received his ministerial certificate. He was drafted into the US Army and served proudly in the Korean theater. He married Sudie Opal Powell March 30, 1973 in Sachse, Texas. He worked for SWB and AT&T for 37 years until retirement.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 43 years Sudie Goodman of Greenville; daughters Alice Swenson and husband Mike of Broaddus, TX, Teresa Goodman-Tarver of Pineland, TX, Mary Harris of Dennison, Lou McDuffy of Dennison, and Laura Goodman of Plano; son Jeff Goodman and wife Melissa of Sherman; 20 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brothers Bobby Goodman of Denton, and John Goodman of Fate, TX; sister Virginia McHalla and husband Lewis of Dallas; numerous nieces and nephews. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, son John Douglas Massengale; brothers Eugene Goodman, and Thurman Goodman.
Family asks that any charitable donations made in Thomas's name be made to the Young at Heart Scholarship Fund at Highland Terrace Baptist Church. Online condolences may be made here or on our facebook page.
