Tanya Barkley

Tanya Randolph-Cannon Barkley, 79 of Greenville passed away Thursday, September 3, at Briarcliff Nursing Home. Graveside service will be 10:00am Tuesday, September 8, at Brigham Cemetery with Pastor Randy Daw officiating. Family visitation will be from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Monday, September 7, at Peters Funeral Home, 4201 Wellington, Greenville Texas. Tanya was born May 12, 1936 in Avery, Texas to Clarence Randolph and Velda Watson Cannon. She graduated high school and attended The University of Texas until marrying Jon Bruce Barkley August 31, 1957 in Baytown, Texas. While attending UT she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. Tanya is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Bruce Barkley of Greenville; son Jon Barkley Jr and wife Ann of St. Louis; daughter Elisa Allen and husband Tim of Dallas; grandchildren Michael Barkley, Shelley Chavarria and husband Geovani, Robert Brown, and Tara Brown; great grandchildren Valerie Chavarria, Ethan Chavarria, and Makensie Chavarria; step brother Sammy Cannon and wife Charlene of Richardson. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to Hunt County Shared Ministries-FISH, P.O. Box 124, Greenville, Texas 75403.
