Sue Smith, age 98, of Campbell passed away on Friday afternoon, July 10, 2020. Sue was born on June 19, 1922 in Hopkins County, Texas, the daughter of O.E. Vaughn and Georgia Ann “Brown” Vaughn. Sue married Gene Smith in Greenville, TX on April 16, 1946. Sue was an active member of First Baptist Church in Campbell, TX; where she was a member of the Women’s Missionary Committee. She was also an active member of the Home Demonstration Club, and the Campbell Saddle Club. Sue spent many years as a cook for Campbell ISD.

Sue is survived by her daughter Eunice Ramsey of Campbell, TX; sons, Nathan Smith and wife Dolores of Campbell, TX, Paul Smith of Logan, IA; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and many family and friends.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband Gene; parents, O.E. and Georgia Ann; 5 brothers; and 4 sisters.

Sue’s family would like to thank the employees and nurses of Hospice Plus for their care in Sue’s final months.

Visitation will be held on Monday July 13, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Peters Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday July 14, 2020 at 10:00 am at Peters Funeral Home. Graveside Service to follow at Brigham Cemetery in Campbell, TX.
