Stephanie Lynne Gjertsen Altom was born in New Orleans, LA. On August 21, 1950 and passed away on April 23, 2023 in Caddo Mills, TX. She didn’t love her name so she went by Lynne.
Lynne graduated from Remington College as a National Registered Certified Medical Assistant and enjoyed working in pediatrics.
Lynne loved being a mother and enjoyed raising her three amazing children. Her favorite thing every summer was taking family trips to Turner Falls and even going back home to New Orleans visiting her family. She loved Mardi Gras and all that came with it. Don’t dare ever talk about her favorite college team LSU! Her heart was purple and gold through and through.
Before moving to Caddo Mills, Lynne and her husband Thomi Altom attended First Methodist Church in Carrolton, TX. where she was part of the choir. Lynne loved to sing and praise about Jesus. At family gatherings, she loved to Karaoke and dance. Lynne loved to buy family and friends gifts and surprise them with them way before it was time to gift them. “Want to see what I got you?” was her famous words, and we all eventually gave in.
Lynne impacted so many lives around her with her loving and giving heart, her contagious laugh and beautiful smile.
Lynne leaves behind her husband of over 50 years, Thomi Altom of Caddo Mills. Her brothers and sisters, John Gjertsen and wife, Penny Gjertsen of Metairie, LA., Hokie Gjertsen of Caddo Mills, Cheryl Thibodeaux of Harahan, LA., and Donna Tall of Tampa, FL.
