Funeral services for Shawn Dee Magar will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Peters Funeral Home with Pastor Phillip Duke officiating. Interment will follow at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery at 2:15 p.m. with Henry Rendon, Bobby Hailey, Jarred Bates, Brett Grant, Michael Bates, Justin Gillespie, David Pennington, and Phillip Lumsden serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Monday, April 28, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Magar passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at his residence. He was born the son of Carson Anthel & Norma Jean Magar, in Long Beach, Califonia. He married
Betty Desper in Lakeside, Arizona on November 21, 1998. He worked as a C & C operator and served in the United States Army.
Shawn Magar is survived by: his wife, Betty Magar, of Greenville; children, Lisa Hailey, of Greenville and Bobby Hailey, and wife, Ashley, of Lone Oak; grandchildren, Josh Butler, Sammy Hailey, and Nolan Hailey; brothers, Ricky Magar, of Arizona and Roy Magar, of Denison; sister, Teresa Lucas, of Denison; special aunt, Loretta Akers, of Greenville; close friends, Dan & Linda Lloyd, of Stanton, VA; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
