Robert "Bob" Pierce, 75, passed away November 9, 2012 at his home in Quinlan Texas. Robert was born in Crowville, Louisiana to Oquin and Vivian Pierce. He joined the Army in 1956 where he earned an Engineering degree. After the Army he continued to serve his county in the civil defense industry and was involved with developing and maintaining technology used today to serve and protect our country. Robert married Anita Nash and had two children who loved him immensely. Anita passed away in 2002. He has traveled extensively around the world during his career and with his love Pat Anderton. Recently he became the Commander at the American Legion Post #517 of West Tawakoni. He dedicated his life to his country, The American Legion, and his family. He was full of life and love for his family and friends and he will be missed by so many. Robert is preceded in death by both parents, wife Anita, son Vance, and sister Betty. Left to celebrate his life is his step mother Marie Pierce, daughter Debra Steelman; grandchildren, Kelly Pierce, Brooke and husband Dave Summerfield, and Dean Steelman; companion Pat Anderton, brother Jimmy and wife Janelle Pierce, and sister Lindya and husband Pete Hester; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and all his friends. Services will be held at Peters Funeral Home Tuesday 11/13/2012 at 10:00 am. Visitation was held Monday November 12, 2012 from 6 to 8pm at the funeral home.
