Reynaldo Medina

Reynaldo “Rey” Medina passed away on August 31, 2026, at the age of 60. He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and a lifetime of memories that will continue to be cherished for years to come.

Rey was truly one of a kind. He was known for his generous spirit, wonderful sense of humor, and the stories he always had to tell. There was rarely a dull moment when Rey was around. He could make you laugh, keep a conversation going, and somehow turn an ordinary moment into a story worth remembering.

He was a son, brother, father, uncle, and friend. To those who knew him best, Rey was simply Rey full of personality, laughter, stories, and a spirit that was uniquely his own. Through both the good times and the difficult ones, he was surrounded by family who loved him, stood beside him, and remained an important part of his life.

Rey was the son of Marcos Medina and the late Eloisa Vernon.

He is survived by his daughters, Erica Roach, wife of Chad Roach; Elsa Aguirre; and Amanda Villalobos; as well as his son, Rey Medina.

Erica and Chad’s family includes Naomi S. Spongburg, Naaman B. Withiam, Matthew D. Wall, and Kacie C. Roach. Rey is also lovingly remembered by his great grandson, River Ellis Spongburg.

Elsa’s family includes Elizabeth Flores, Christian Flores, Pherever Flores, Sophia Flores, Ava Salazar, and Jack Salazar.

He is also lovingly remembered by Amanda’s children, Nicholas A. Besherse Jr., Arianna M. Besherse, and Anthony W. Besherse.

Rey is lovingly remembered by his sister, Johanna S. Obregon, and her husband, Carlos Obregon, along with their children, Lauren, Ava, Michael, Isabella, and Natalie Obregon.

He is also lovingly remembered by his sister, Diana M. Alvarado, and her husband, Roel Alvarado, along with their family: Angelica Serna, Christopher M. Sierra II, Erica Leal, Sophia Alvarado, and Thalia Alvarado.

Rey is also survived by his sister, Sonia Herrera, and her husband, Leo Herrera, along with Eliana Valdez, Jacilla Valdez, Nathaniel Valdez, and Delainey Herrera.

Rey was preceded in death by his mother, Eloisa Vernon, and his sister, Noelia Medina. Noelia’s children, Alejandro Buckaloo and Richard Rodriguez, remain part of the loving family who will carry Rey’s memory forward.

Rey’s life was not measured by perfection, but by the people who loved him, the laughter he brought into a room, the stories he shared, and the memories he left behind. His family will remember his personality, his humor, and the conversations that could go on and on. These are the pieces of Rey that will continue to live on in everyone who knew and loved him.

Though saying goodbye is difficult, his family finds comfort in knowing that love does not end with death. The stories will continue to be told, the laughter will always be remembered, and his name will forever be spoken with love.

Rey will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
