Raymundo Ramos Rico, lovingly known to most family and friends as “Simon,” was born on February 21, 1949, and passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and quiet strength.
Raymundo was born to Encarnacion Rico and Lucia Ramos. He lived a life grounded in hard work, faith, and family. In his younger years, he proudly served as part of the Mexican Military during the 1960s. He later worked as a farmer and went on to dedicate more than forty years as a skilled saddle maker, a trade that reflected his patience, craftsmanship, and pride in honest labor.
Above all else, Raymundo was a devoted, loving, and caring husband, father, and grandfather. His proudest joy was becoming a grandfather and having the blessing of watching his grandchildren grow. Some of his family’s most cherished memories include going to church on Sundays, followed by breakfast together, and driving the back roads, stopping along the way to ride bikes and enjoy watermelon during long, hot summers.
Raymundo found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed playing the lottery on Wednesdays and Fridays, spending time with his family, playing with his grandchildren, and sitting in the kitchen or on the porch drinking coffee, talking about life with his wife. Music was always close to his heart, especially Los Alegres de Terán, which he loved to listen to.
Raymundo married the love of his life in June of 1995 and later renewed his vows through the Catholic Church on December 10, 2022, reaffirming a bond built on faith and enduring love.
He is survived by his son, Eugenio Rico Reyes and wife Sol Soto; daughter, Maria Figueroa and husband Juan Figueroa; Grandchildren, Elisa Rico, Cain Figueroa, Joselyn Figueroa, Elio Rico and Elan Rico.
He was preceded in death by his father, Encarnacion Rico; mother, Lucia Ramos; and his beloved wife, Maria de Lourdes Reyes Valadez.
Raymundo’s life was one of humility, love, and quiet devotion. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
