Pete Black, 52, of Greenville, Texas, passed away on September 16, 2025. He was born on September 7, 1973, in Greenville, Texas.
Pete had a big personality and an even bigger heart. He was the kind of man who could light up a room with a joke, a laugh, or simply his presence. Known for his dad jokes, warm smile, and welcoming nature, Pete was truly the life of the party—a gentle giant, a huge teddy bear who made everyone feel at home.
He loved sharing life’s simple joys—whether it was making his famous queso, spending time in his man cave, browsing flea markets and pawn shops, or enjoying a cold Miller Lite after a long day. Pete had a special love for the Fourth of July, often hosting fireworks shows that brought friends, family, and neighbors together in celebration.
More than anything, Pete’s proudest role was being a husband and father. He adored his wife, Jennifer, and cherished every moment with his children. To them, and to all who knew him, he was the best husband and father anyone could ask for. His family was his greatest joy and his deepest love.
Pete is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Black; son, Tyler Black; daughters, Darian Black; and Bella. He also leaves behind his mother, Annie Tipps, and stepfather, Jerry Tipps; his brothers, Scotty Black and wife Gena, Randy Black, Tony Warren, and Jerry Lee Tipps. He was preceded in death by his sister, Diana Louise Warren, and his best friend and “brother,” Jermichael Edwards.
Pete’s memory will live on in the laughter he brought, the love he gave, and the countless lives he touched. His family and friends will forever carry him in their hearts.
