Paul Newton Norrell, 60, passed away peacefully in his sleep next to his loving wife of 34 years on November 13th, 2022.
Paul was born in Weatherford, Texas on April 11th, 1962 to Virgil Lee Norrell and Shirley Ann Norrell (Hallmon). He spent many days in Alvarado, Texas but Graduated from Van Alstyne High School. Soon after he entered into the United States Navy on December 15th, 1979 where he received many metals until he was honorably discharged on July 28th, 1988. Paul then found his new passion of working on industrial water heaters as a Boiler Technician at American Steam for several years until he went to ACIS and spent the rest of his days doing what he loved, He married Tena Hamilton on April 12th, 1991 at their home in Westminster where they raised three sons and one step daughter.
Paul loved being surrounded by all his family, playing his guitars for anyone who would listen. He spent many hours working outside as an avid handyman, but his favorite thing was playing with his grandson Waylon who he said was his whole world.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents Virgil Lee Norrell Sr. And Shirley Norrell, and his brother James Dale. Paul is survived by his wife Tena Norrell of Westminster, three sons John (Kelsey) Norrell of Whitewright, William Riley Norrell of Westminster, and Matthew (Thea) Norrell of Westminster, grandson Waylon Norrell of Westminster, step daughter Courtney Christian of Bells, step grandchildren Kaylena of Bells, Carrielynn of Bells, Karl of Bells, and Emma of Bells, his brother Lee Norrell of Brisbane Australia, many Aunts, Uncles, step nieces and nephews, step sisters and brother, and cousins.
We would like to thank the Westminster fire department, AMR, the doctor and nurses of Baylor Scott and White, and ACIS for the help, care, and support we were given during this difficult time. You all will forever be remembered.
Family Night will be held Tuesday, November 22nd, 2022 for 6pm to 8pm at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne, Texas.
