Nora Darlene “Reaves” James, entered this world on September 29, 1943, born in Killeen TX, she was the 5th of 7 kids raised by Willie and Velma Reaves of Killeen.  Darlene passed from this life on November 5, 2023 at Tendercare Memory Center in Greenville, TX.  Among her 5 Sisters she was known as the Prissy One, the Spunky Sister, the Life of the Party, the Silly One.  Pull out a camera and she could strike a pose in a second! She loved having her picture taken and cherished photos of her family.

 

Darlene, was a Bookkeeper and worked in accounting for most all of her career.  She was MOM, WIFE, BEST FRIEND and MEMAH to her 6 Grandchildren, 4 Great-Grandchildren, Step Children and Step Grand Children. SHE LOVED HER FAMILY! She Loved with Her WHOLE HEART and held nothing back!!!

 

Darlene is proceeded in death by her parents John Willie Reaves and Velma Darling Reaves. Brother William “Junior” Reaves, and Sisters Marcella “Marcie” Stubblefield, Doris Shiveley, Wanda Moreno and Janelle “Jan” Bryer.

 

Darlene is survived by Husband Jerry James of Greenville, Her younger Sister Glenda and husband Rudy Mata of Garland. Son, Darren and wife Susan Jackson of Heath, and Daughter Darla Henry of Royse City. Her Six Grandchildren Cody and wife Jessica of Greenville, Graham and wife Amy of Royse City, Chandler, Pierce, Macy and Cameron. Her 4 Great Grand-Children Roman, Jameson, Damon, and Jemma. And all her Nieces and Nephews that claim her as an Auntie-Mom. Alicia and husband Mike Cantrell of Prosper TX, Kyle and Sarah James of Philadelphia, MS and Evan James of Austin.  Step-Grandchildren John Luke, Brittny, Seth, Sydney, Katie and Charlotte.

 

Darlene, will be laid to rest at the feet of her parents, and next to her sister Wanda in Killeen Texas. Her internment will be a final farewell for those who loved her the most. This sendoff will be devoted to sharing the joy that she brought us all! Her family will take her for burial on Saturday November 25th at Killeen City Cemetery.

 

Memorial Services were held at Central Church in Plano Texas on November 19th.  Pastor Emeritus Dan Rigdon conducted and arranged the services. Darlene will be interned at Killeen City Cemetery in Killeen Texas.
