Nell Callens

Nell R. Callens, 79, passed away quietly at her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 25, 2012. Nell was born to Jim and Edith Nelson on March 18, 1933 in Caddo Mills, Texas. She would meet and later marry the love of her life, Bill Callens on September 12, 1953. To this union were born a son Wesley and a daughter, Donna. Nell was a lifelong resident of Caddo Mills and Greenville; known throughout the area as the hostess of Welcome to Greenville . Her warm smile and open heart made her a beloved member of the community. Nell is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Edith; as well as, two brothers, William Nelson and J.C. Nelson. Those left to celebrate her life include Bill Callens, her husband of 59 years; son Wesley Callens and his wife Stephanie; daughter Donna Meador and her husband Bart; several grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sisters, Velma Watson and Kathleen Wygal; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held the following day, Monday, October 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Brother Royce Litchfield will officiate.
