Mildred Beggs

Mildred Fay Beggs, age 89, of Greenville, passed away in the morning hours of Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the Hunt Regional Medical Center at Commerce. She was born on January 7, 1921 in Hunt County to Arlie Marvin and Estelle Steen Ford, they preceded her in death. Mildred married Allen Albert Beggs in 1938 and together they spent the next 45 years making memories until his passing in 1983. She spent her life as a homemaker and jack of all trades. Mildred would do anything needed from cooking and cleaning to milking the cows and working the farm. She also loved babysitting which gave her the opportunity to raise dozens of children over the years. In her free time, Mildred still loved tending to her garden, sewing, and watching birds, especially hummingbirds. Her quick wit and sassy nature will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by three children, Dorothy Irene Beggs, Charles Allen Beggs, and Brenda Faye Beggs, and husband Richard; grandchildren, Amanda Suzzanne George-Walewski, and husband Edward, and Jason Tyler George; one brother, Billy Ray Ford; one sister, Clara Hazel Moles; special friends, Susie Thrash; and numerous other relatives and friends. Services for Ms. Beggs will be held at 9:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at the Humbolt Church adjacent to Humbolt Cemetery. Burial will follow at Humbolt Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 " 8:00 P.M. Monday evening at Peters Funeral Home.
