Michael Wayne Isham

August 5, 1952 — August 17, 2025

Michael Wayne Isham, 73, of Campbell, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025. Born on August 5, 1952, in Greenville, Texas, Michael was the beloved son of Albert and Frances “Mary” Isham.

A proud graduate of Campbell High School, Michael went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Specialist. During his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and earned recognition as a Sharpshooter with the M16 rifle—honors that reflected his dedication, skill, and discipline.

After his military service, Michael built a long and successful career as a master plumber and superintendent at D&M Plumbing. Known for his reliability, leadership, and hands-on approach, he was deeply respected by his coworkers and the community he served.

On August 20, 1976, Michael married the love of his life, Phyllis Ann Hughes. Together they built a life filled with hard work, shared passions, and a love that lasted nearly five decades. One of Phyllis’s fondest memories is working alongside him on their cars—projects that bonded them through every bolt and wrench.

Michael had a deep love for racing—both watching and participating—and took great pride in rebuilding antique cars. Yard work and time spent outdoors were his quiet joys. His son Jason recalls the peaceful rhythm of mowing pastures together; a memory rooted in shared work and fatherly wisdom. His daughter Carrie treasures the day her father was baptized, a moment of spiritual significance. Crystal and Carrie remember the daily joy of rushing to greet him when he came home from work—always with Rolos in his pocket just for them.

Michael will be remembered for his strong work ethic, quiet generosity, and steadfast love for his family.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Phyllis Ann Isham; his loving mother, Frances “Mary” Isham; brothers Larry Isham and David Isham; sister Elaine Isham Evans; son Jason Isham and wife Faith Isham; daughters Carrie Isham Patrick and husband Donald Patrick, and Crystal Isham Heath and husband Shannon Heath. Michael was a proud grandfather to Aaron Isham, Chase Gilbreath, Seth Heath, Chandler Gilbreath, Landon Gilbreath, Michayla Isham Offutt, Shayla Heath, and Erika Isham; and a cherished great-grandfather to Maddox Offutt, Nova Heath, Ivy Heath, Autumn Offutt, and Oakley Rae Gilbreath.

He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will deeply miss his presence and kindness.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Albert Dee Isham; brothers Mark Isham and Bryan Isham; his niece Marissa Archer; and his nephew Steven Isham.

A life lived with quiet strength, love, and loyalty—Michael leaves a legacy that will be carried on through every life he touched.
