Maurine Reese, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on September 22, 2023, in Quinlan, TX. She was born on November 22, 1928, in McCaskill, Arkansas. Maurine lived a full and joyous life that touched the hearts of all those who knew her.
Maurine dedicated many years of her life working as a Pastry Chef for Dallas Independent School District before retiring. Her culinary skills brought smiles to the faces of countless students who enjoyed her delicious creations. Maurine's talent and passion for baking were evident in every pastry she made.
Beyond her career achievements, Maurine treasured her time spent with family. She had a strong bond with her son, William Reese, and his wife Marcy from Quinlan, TX. Maurine's daughter, Barbara George from Boerne, TX, held a special place in her heart as well. Maurine's grandchildren were also very dear to her. She is survived by Mike George and his wife Amber from Fredericksburg, TX; Matt Reese and his wife Casie from Wichita, Kansas; Becky Reese all the way from Jeju, South Korea; and several great-grandchildren who filled her life with joy - Kyrsten Lepping and her husband Danny from Talares, Florida; Brett George and his wife Ivory from Boerne,TX; Meredith George from Kerrville,TX ; Jack George also from Kerrville,TX ; Caleb Reese , Micah Reese , Chloe Reese all the way from Wichita,Kansas; Haiden Bible and Ava Bible both of Fredericksburg,Texas, her brother Bill Hood from Gentry, Arkansas. Additionally , Maurine leaves behind five great-great grandchildren who will forever cherish the memories she created.
She was preceded in death by her husband Chester Reese, sister, Olene Arnold and her brother, Charles Hood.
Maurine was an incredibly kind-hearted individual whose warm and welcoming personality grabbed everyone's attention. Her smile brightened up any room and brought comfort to those experiencing difficult times. Maurine always found the time to lend a listening ear and provide words of encouragement to those who needed it. Her generosity and compassion were truly remarkable.
When Maurine wasn't baking or spending time with her loved ones, she found solace in the tranquil world of gardening. The vibrancy of her garden was a testament to her green thumb and love for nature. In her free moments, Maurine also indulged in playing computer games that brought her both entertainment and relaxation.
Maurine's passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to have known her. While we mourn the loss of such an incredible woman, let us also celebrate the beautiful memories she leaves behind. Maurine Reese will forever be remembered as a dedicated professional, a loving mother and grandmother, and a beacon of kindness in our lives.
In this difficult time, we encourage friends and family to come together to remember Maurine's life with joyful memories and stories that will keep her spirit alive. As we bid farewell to our dear Maurine, let us find solace in knowing that she has left an indelible mark on our lives and will be watching over us from above.
