Mary Douglas

Mary Helen Douglas passed away on November 13, 2018 in McKinney, TX. She was born on July 17, 1927 in Farmersville, TX to Herbert Hooper and Ollie Mae Hooper. She lived in the Farmersville and Merit area most of her life.

She married S.J. Douglas on January 3, 1948 in Rockwall. They were married for 70 years.

She is survived by her loving husband S.J. Douglas; sons Gary Douglas (Susan), Don Douglas (Candy), and Mark Douglas (Kay Lynn).

Grandchildren; Kevin Douglas (Renee), Kelly Jones (Jeremy), Dusty Douglas (Missy), Blake Douglas (Susan), Colton Douglas (Brittany), Justin Douglas (Kristi), and Jennifer Adams (Brandon).

Great-Grandchildren; Kailee & Kacie Murphy, Grant &Garrett Ticknor, Bryson & Will Douglas, Saylor Douglas; Hadley, Beck, & Dilynn Douglas; Addison & Paxstyn Adams; and several nieces and nephews. Also survived by lifelong friend Genora Boone.

She was preceded in death by parents; sisters Lauretta Belle Wright & Catherine Hooper; brothers J.R. Hooper & Bobby Hooper; grandson Joel Douglas; nephew Jerry Wright & niece Nancy Perry.

A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 pm Friday, November 16 at Merit Baptist Church with Brother Bob Layman and Donnie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Merit Cemetery with Kevin Douglas, Dusty Douglas, Blake Douglas, Colton Douglas, Justin Douglas, Jeremy Jones, and Brandon Adams serving as pallbearers. A visitation will be held from 5:00 -7:00 pm Thursday, November 15 at Peters Funeral Home.
