Marjorie Brown

August 21, 1925 — January 7, 2011

Marjorie Rae Brown, age 85, of Greenville, passed away in the early evening hours of Friday, January 7, 2011 at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. She was born on August 21, 1925 in El Dorado, Arkansas to Gilbert Raymond and Sallie Sutherland Brown, they preceded her in death. Marjorie was a retired homemaker who never really retired. As a proud mother of four girls and a devoted Navy wife, she was the loving shoulder and strong arm needed in a military family. Marjorie loved traveling with the love of her life, her husband of 62 years, Harley Mitchell Brown, he survives. As time went on and the family grew she became not only the loving mother but the best grandmother and great grandmother to many. She was a great cook, but loved to eat out. Marjorie was a Godly, Christian woman whose love of family will be missed by all who knew her. Marjorie is survived by husband, Harley Mitchell Brown of Greenville; four daughters, Debbie Morel, and husband Dave, of Greenville, Margie Guin, and husband Jim, of Stephenville, Annette Simmons, and husband Clyde, of Campbell, and Lena Ehlert, and husband Mark, of Edmonds, Washington; and by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Josephine Newton, on January 3, 2011. Services for Marjorie Brown were held at 10 A.M., Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the New Life Family Fellowship Church in Caddo Mills with Pastor Butch Bruton, Rev. Jim Guin, and Rev. Dave Morel officiating. Burial followed at I.O.O.F. in Caddo Mills with Pastor Mike Martin officiating and Nick Simmons, Dave Morel, Justin Morel, Nathan Morel, Travis Morel, Heath Morel, Jamie Guin, and Clyde Simmons serving as pallbearers.
