Lillie Bea McWhorter Barker Jenkins, age 96, of Grand Saline, passed away Thursday evening, June 19, 2008 at the Cozby Germany Hospital of Grand Saline. Lillie was born in Tidwell, Texas on January 28, 1912 to M.C. McWhorter and Pearl Burgess. She was a member of the North Baptist Church in Greenville and worked as a seamstress for many years. She also spent many hours making arts and crafts and selling them at area fairs and events. She was a member of the Woodman of the World for several years. Lillie is survived by seven sons, Bill & Marie Barker of Forney, Charles and Debbie Barker of Van, Richard and Joyce Barker of Campbell, Michael and Lynda Barker of Mansfield, James and Jean Jenkins of Dallas, Jerry and Charlotte Jenkins of Anaconda, Montana and Larry and Peggy Jenkins of Caddo Mills; ten daughters, Pat and Leo Maudlin of Greenville, Joy Robinson of Brady, Sandy and David Roberts of Greenville, Sarah and Michael Pierce of Grand Saline, Susan and Jack Haley of Amarillo, Lucille Reeves of Garland, Mildred and Aubrey Cunningham of Dallas, Ruby and Burl Sprinkles of Sherman, Geraldine Zimmerman of Dallas, Joyce and Andy Bussell of Yantis; 48 grandchildren, 95 great-grandchildren, and 40 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands C.O. Barker and G.A. Jenkins, five brothers, four sisters, six grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the North Baptist Church of Greenville Building Fund. Services will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Peters Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Tidwell Cemetery.
