Lewis William Talbot

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lewis William Talbot, who was born on October 15, 1946, and passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026.

Lewis was a graduate of West High School in Auburn, New York, Class of 1965. Following high school, he proudly served in the United States military from 1966 to 1968. His years of service were an important part of his life and reflected the strength, dedication, and patriotism he carried with him throughout the years.

Lewis was a man who never met a stranger. He loved people, was known for being incredibly talkative, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to a friend in need. His outgoing personality and generous spirit made him someone who was easy to know and even easier to love. To his family, he was affectionately known as “Captain America,” a fitting nickname for a man whose personality, patriotism, and larger-than-life spirit left a lasting impression on everyone around him.

Lewis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was especially proud to be a “Pepaw” and treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren. Some of his fondest memories included traveling to Jamaica with his beloved wife, Bernice, and teaching his daughter, Nicole, the game of football. And as one of the biggest Dallas Cowboys fans around, football was never far from his heart—or a conversation with Lewis!

Outside of his love for family and football, Lewis enjoyed listening to music, learning about history, and spending time playing with his dogs. He also took great pride in his career achievement of owning and operating a successful restaurant and bar, where his love of people and his natural gift for conversation undoubtedly made an impact on many.

Lewis will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His stories, laughter, generous heart, and unmistakable personality will live on in the memories of his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bernice Talbot; daughter, Nicole Redmond and her husband, Brian; grandson, Lyle Redmond; granddaughter, Jane Redmond; brother, Jim Talbot; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Louis Talbot; and his brothers, Stephen Talbot, Ed Talbot, Bill Talbot and Bob Talbot.

Though Lewis has left this earthly life, the love he gave, the stories he shared, and the memories he created will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His family takes comfort in knowing that his legacy will continue through the people he loved most.
