Legenia Sasser

August 14, 1925 — October 28, 2015

Legenia Lee Sasser, 90, of Greenville passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015 in Dallas. Funeral service will be 2:00pmSaturday, October 31 at Cash Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Combs officiating. Burial will follow in Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Peters Funeral Home. Legenia was born August 14, 1925 in Quinlan to Lewis Isham and Flossie Day Isham. She married Huey Sasser on October 5, 1940 and they lived on the same property that has been in the Sasser family for many years. Huey was in the construction business and he and Legenia worked side by side building the house that they lived in, and is still standing today. She was a member of Cash Baptist Church for many years. Family and friends will remember her for having a strong personality and being strong willed, but she also had a nurturing side which was evident by her love for her family and love for working in the garden. Legenia is survived by her granddaughter Debra Quinn of Dallas; grandson Norman Cotton of Greenville; five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 62 years Huey Sasser; daughters Betty Allen-MacDonald and Norma Cotton; sister Ellen Coker; brothers Henry Isham and Leonard Isham; one great grandson.
