Laura Edith (Shelton) Martin age, 81 of Josephine, Tx., passed away on November 11, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Laura was born in Maybank, Tx. to Edgar and Emma Ruth (Dean) Shelton. She was the oldest of five children. Laura loved to write short stories and bake, she was well known for her Buttermilk Pie. She had made a career for her self as a executive assistant for many years with the Sammons family who became her family whom she loved. She also worked with Frost Bank and was blessed with numerous more friends,

Laura met and married her husband, Herman Lee Martin on January 18, 1962 in Dallas, Tx. Together they had one son, Christopher Scott Martin and her husband blessed her with two stepsons, Rick and Steve Martin whom she loved with all her heart.

Laura is survived by her son, Scott and his wife, Jackie, son, Rick and his wife, Becky, grandchildren, Trevor, Matthew, Brandy, and Bo her four legged doggy friend who stuck with her to the end., nieces, Karen and Shelly, nephews, Wayne, Jay, and Billy, bestfriend, Barbara Brisolara. A special thank you to the Caring Hearts team who made her last few months comfortable and easy for her to enjoy family. Thank you Nurse, Stacy Yoes, Chaplin Josh Blakley, and Jennifer Cook. Her Doctor and friend, Dr. Suberamanian and team.

Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Herman, mother and father, Edgar and Emma Ruth, son, Steve, brother Ronnie, sisters, Judy, Elaine, and Deana, nephews, Russell and Cory.

Memorial Service will be held at Eastfield Baptist Church 3714 Motley Dr. Mesquite, Tx 75150 at 1:00 PM, November 19, 2022 with Rev. Josh Blakley officiating music by Denice Miles. She will be layed to rest with her mother and father at Laural Oaks in Balch Springs, Tx at a later time.
