Kenton Glenn Coppedge, age 63, passed away on May 15, 2026. He was born on August 14, 1962, and lived a life filled with love, laughter, adventure, and devotion to his family and friends.
Kenton graduated from Lake Highlands High School and participated in mission trips through First Baptist Richardson. He later attended Werner Trucking School, where he earned his CDL and built a career doing what he enjoyed.
Kenton was known for his kind heart, generosity, sense of humor, and caring spirit. He could also be stubborn and set in his ways, traits that those who loved him came to cherish. He deeply loved his family, friends, and every animal that crossed his path. Whether caring for pets, helping others, or sharing a laugh, Kenton made people feel welcomed and loved.
He found his greatest joy outdoors. Kenton loved camping, fishing, working in the yard, mowing on his tractor, and spending evenings relaxing on the swing beside the pond and firepit with the love of his life, Dawn. He especially loved fishing for crappie, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, listening to country music, and spending time near the water. A master diver and water skier, Kenton had a deep love for the ocean and outdoor adventures.
One of Kenton’s proudest accomplishments was purchasing his Harley-Davidson, something he had long dreamed about. Another treasured memory was taking his first vacation to Las Vegas with Dawn McClellan, whom he loved dearly and shared his life with since 2006.
Kenton is survived by his loving wife, Dawn McClellan; stepbrother, Marc Forderhase; sisters, Kristi Underwood and Carrie Marshall; stepsister, Marcy Dixon; stepdaughters, Crystal McKanic, Madisson Norris, and Shalynn Thompson; stepsons, Ricky Shelhorse and Dylan Norris; nephews, Christopher White and Brandon Underwood; and nieces, Niki Underwood, McKensie Marshall, and Phauns Dixon.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Glenn Coppedge; his mother, Beverly Jean Cypert; his grandfather, Liston Glenn Coppedge; his grandmother, Coy Jane Coppedge; and his brothers, Ronnie Embry and Steve Embry.
Kenton will be remembered for his love of life, his laughter, his loyalty, and the countless memories he created with those he loved. His presence will be deeply missed but forever carried in the hearts of all who knew him.
