Karen Shea Ricker ( Winterhalt ) Passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 at her daughters home due to Metastatic lung cancer. Karen was born on March 28,1957. In Oneida, New York to Joseph and Margaret ( Fullen ) Winterhalt. She graduated from Oneida High School. She lived in Sylvan Beach and worked at Eddies Restaurant for 25 years before moving to Sulphur Springs, Texas in 2001. She loved Texas so much that she drove her kids crazy and made it clear by telling them over and over that " she never wanted to go back to New York"  She was an avid reader and of Catholic faith. She loved sewing and crocheting, and spending time with her children and grandchildren to whom she was " Nana"  and many "adopted" Sylvan Beach kids. She was known to have an "open door" policy for those in need. Even when she didn't have anything to give.

Karen is survived by her mother Margaret, her children; Jennifer ( Wayne) Dailey; Jeffery(Starr) Williams; Stephanie Ricker and Riley Knapp; and Anastasia Ricker; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; her brothers; Scott and Kevin; sister; Shari, and many nieces and nephews. 

Karen is preceded in death by her father; Joseph, and her great granddaughter Joyce.

A private burial will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Restlawn Memorial Park at 1:00 PM.  A memorial will be announced at a later date by her children.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her daughter Stephanie who took great care of her in her final days.
