Juan Hernandez Zurita, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on September 10, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of hard work, music, and cherished memories.
Born to Policarpio Zurita and Santa Ana Hernandez on May 5, 1950, Juan was a man of many talents and a tireless work ethic. Throughout his life, he built a career as a skilled horse trainer, auto mechanic, and welder, each role reflecting his dedication and hands-on expertise.
Juan had a deep love for nature and animals, and his friendly, sociable personality touched everyone he met. Some of his most treasured moments were spent playing his bajo sexto on Sunday mornings before church, filling his home with the music he loved. He was also passionate about playing the accordion and bass, working on his truck, and spending time with family and friends.
His proudest accomplishments in life were raising his children and witnessing them grow into their own, and later, becoming a grandfather, a role he cherished deeply.
Juan is survived by his loving family: his brother, Armando Zurita; sisters, Berta Zurita, Marialena Zurita, and Ricarda Zurita; daughters, Edith Zurita Ramirez and Erika Zurita; stepdaughter, Emma Limón; sons, Oscar Zurita and Armando Zurita; son-in-law, Edgardo Ramirez; daughters-in-law, Hortencia Zurita and Jeannie Zurita; grandsons, Edgar E. Ramirez, Arnulfo Zurita, Hilberto Zurita, Aaron Zurita, Joseph Zurita, and Anthony J. Zurita; and granddaughters, Emily M. Ramirez, Edeliz M. Ramirez, Aurora J. Zurita, Audie E. Espinoza, and Aubrey L. Espinoza.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Policarpio Zurita and Santa Ana Hernandez.
Juan’s life will be remembered for his kindness, music, laughter, and the joy he found in both work and family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him
