John Edward Lumpkins, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on August 9, 2023, in Rockwall, TX. He was born on August 20, 1948, in Pampa, TX to Warner and Thelma Lumpkins. 

John led a fulfilling life, spending several years working as a truck driver. His dedication to his career was admirable and he took tremendous pride in his work. But John's true joy came from his family. He cherished every moment spent with them and found great happiness in their company.

Known for his kind and welcoming nature, John made everyone feel at ease in his presence. He had a remarkable sense of humor that could light up a room. His infectious laughter brought joy to those around him and created lasting memories.

In his leisure time, John had a few hobbies and interests that brought him immense pleasure. He loved watching football games and would often get lost in the excitement of the sport. Additionally, he derived great enjoyment from watching classic television shows like Gunsmoke. John also had a passion for collecting coins and baseball cards; each piece represented a small treasure that held its own unique story.

John leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his devoted wife Stephanie Lumpkins, who stood by his side through thick and thin. Their unwavering love and support for each other served as an inspiration to all who knew them.

John's daughter's Shelly Dirickson and Kelly Linder were the apple of his eye. He watched them grow into  exceptional women with pride and admiration. John adored them fiercely and supported their every endeavor.

As a loving grandfather to Trenton Conger, Marissa Linder, Joshua Linder, and Lily Linder, John left an indelible mark on their lives. He shared his wisdom and always made time to share in their youthful joy. John's presence filled their hearts with love and warmth.

John is also survived by his brother's Roy Lee Lumpkins and Mark Lumpkins, sisters Mary Brooks and Peg Risley grieve the loss of their beloved sibling.

Along with his immediate family, John was blessed with numerous other family members who will forever remember him fondly.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Warner Lumpkins, his mom Thelma Lumpkins, and his sister, Billie Jean Clayborn.

As we bid farewell to John Edward Lumpkins, let us celebrate the beautiful life he lived and the impact he had on all those fortunate enough to know him. May his memory live on in our hearts as a reminder of the importance of love, laughter, and cherishing every moment spent with our loved ones.
