John Theodore Ehler

November 29, 1978 — April 30, 2025

John Theodore Ehler IV was born on November 29, 1978, and entered eternal rest on April 30, 2025.

A proud graduate of Wylie High School, Class of 1997, John pursued a career in information technology, where he excelled in technical support, computer programming, and repairs. His talent for problem-solving and his willingness to help others made him a trusted and valued professional among colleagues and friends alike.

John was devoted, kind, loving, and generous — a self-proclaimed “nerd” with a deep love for technology and a lifelong enthusiasm for Star Trek. His warmth and humor left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Some of John’s fondest memories came from time spent with his family. As a child, he and his sister Cheryl would ride their bikes to Lake Lavon to swim and fish. With his sister Valerie, he enjoyed long drives filled with music — especially Def Leppard — and memories of learning to drive a stick-shift Dodge Daytona.

One of John’s proudest accomplishments was earning his second-degree black belt in Taekwondo. His team, the Dragon Squad, not only won their competition but were also invited to perform an exhibition at the White House, where they met the President — a memory he cherished throughout his life.

In his spare time, John loved playing guitar, listening to music, fishing, and working on computers. He had a soft spot for animals, often taking in lost or abandoned pets, feeding them, and giving them a safe and loving home.

John is survived by his sisters, Valerie Oliver and Cheryl Pulido. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Theodore Ehler III and Sylvia Ehler.

John will be remembered for his generosity, his gentle heart, and his unwavering love for family, friends, and every creature that crossed his path.
