Jimmy Elliot Eudy

Jimmy Elliott Eudy, 81, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at his home in Kingston, Texas.

Jim was born on October 8, 1944, in Lubbock, Texas, to John Edgar Eudy and Doris Christine Whitley Eudy.

Jim grew up and spent many of his childhood years in Dallas, Texas; but, in those younger years, his heart was always in the country at Cuthand (Bogota), Texas, with his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. The story goes that when it came time for his family to go back home to Dallas after a visit to Cuthand, Jim was nowhere to be found and after searching, his parents would leave him until their next visit. It was discovered that many times his hiding place was in the cellar where he stayed until he knew for certain his parents had left.

In later years after Jim was grown, the family moved to Celeste, Texas, where Jim would eventually follow, making Celeste his home until his death.

Jim served his country in the United States Air Force with several of those years being at Kessler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississpi, until his honorable discharge.

Jim continued his life of service to others through his employment and career as a fireman with the Greenville Firefighters Association, Local #997, from October 13, 1974, until his retirement on January 15, 1996. Jim was also a skilled carpenter, having built many homes through the years. Jim loved fishing and hunting and enjoyed raising cattle with his brothers at the farm, Eudy Acres, which was the site of many horseshoe tournaments, family hayrides and Easter Egg hunts hosted by the Eudy boys.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, John (Bud) Eudy and Doris Eudy, and brothers, Johnny Glenn Eudy and Billy Don Eudy. He is survived by his wife, Sue Davis Eudy of Kingston, Texas, and children: Johnny Dale Eudy of Celeste, Texas, and step-daughter, Crystal Brown (Chad) of Celeste, Texas. Jim is also survived by daughters, Kimberly Eudy of Jasper, Texas, Karen Boudreaux, and Sharon (Janine) Davis of Granbury, Texas; grandchildren, Misty Dawson of Leonard, Texas, Jeff Eudy, Jaycee Brown and Koby Brown of Celeste, Texas, and Travis White; great-grandchildren, Avery Compton, Aiden Eudy, Lexie Eudy, Jaiden Eudy, and Blakely Douglas and great-great grandchild, Londyn Trejo. Jim is also survived by his brother, Jearold Eudy (Paulette) of Leonard, Texas, brother-in-law Phillip Davis (Diane), sisters-in-law, Donna Davies and Debra Davis, and numerous nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Jim.

Jim will also be missed by a huge host of friends, all of whom have many colorful stories of Jim’s dry sense of humor for which he will be remembered fondly.
