J.F. Spoonemore

  • F. (Pete) Spoonemore passed away Tuesday morning, May 1, 2019 surrounded by his family. Pete was born in Kingston, Texas on October 19, 1932 the son of S.L. (Spoony) and Opal Lee (Tadlock) Spoonemore. He lived in Kingston until he entered the US Air Force in 1953 where he served until 1957. After the serving his country Pete married Phyllis Perkins in Durrant, Oklahoma on June 7, 1958.
  • Pete retired from E-Systems in 1972 and pursued his passion in ranching and farming full time. He loved his family and his animals. He raised his kids in agriculture and spent many weekends traveling to livestock shows with them as they were growing up. One of his enjoyments in his down time was hopping on his side by side and driving through his pasture and checking his animals. Pete enjoyed trading tractors, trailers, animals, and four-wheelers. He was always trading something and constantly needed something to fool with. Pete also enjoyed spending time talking with fellow friends.

    Those left cherishing Pete’s memory are his wife of 60 years, Phyllis Spoonemore; daughters, Tuesday Johnson, and husband Bill, and Tammy Brightwell; son, Jimmy Spoonemore; grandchildren, Jenni & Tommy Ofallon, Kyle & Brandi Shamburger, Shelby & Tyler Landrum, Josh & Marissa Spoonemore, Cody & Krystal Spoonemore, Presley Spoonemore, Charity & Matt Ellis, McKenzie Brightwell & Hunter Heim; a host of great grandchildren; and beloved dog, D.

    Pete was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Charlene Daniels; sister, Eloise Shields; and beloved dog, Jackson.

    A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Richard Moore and Bro. Chuck Jestis officiating. Burial will follow at Hogeye/Celeste Cemetery with Kenneth Spoonemore, Kelly Spoonemore, Bill Johnson, Matt Ellis, Cody Spoonemore, and Josh Spoonemore serving as pallbearers and Kyle Shamburger, Hunter Heim, and Tommy Ofallon serving as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held Friday evening May 3, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
