Jane Harriet Keese

Jane Keese went to meet Jesus face to face on April 19, 2026 with Larry, her husband of 58 years, holding her hand.

Jane was born February 15, 1946 to George and Pauline Polk in Houston, Texas. She grew up in the Heights attending Love Elementary, Hamilton Junior High and Reagan High School where she was a Swiss Flag in the Reagan Red Coats. Jane then went on to Sam Houston State University earning her degree in Elementary Education.

Her family were members of Baptist Temple where she met Larry Keese, her future husband. They were married on August 19, 1967, and enjoyed 58 years together. Larry and Jane were blessed with two children Larry Jr. and Lesli. When they moved to Kingwood in 1974, they joined Forest Cove Baptist Church and through the years Jane taught youth and preschool Sunday School. She also decorated for many church banquets and special occasions.

Jane had the gift of hospitality, hosting many bridal and baby showers and holiday dinners for friends and family. Jane was active in the PTA and was the first Elmer Bear, the mascot of Bear Branch Elementary. They made the costume to fit her so all those who followed her had to be short! She and Larry also opened their home to others who needed a place to stay, ranging from a couple of days to months. They also fostered six children over a three-year period.

Jane was proceeded in death by her parents and brother, George Jr. She is survived by her husband, Larry, son Larry Jr. and his wife Loretta, daughter Lesli and her husband Kyle and grandchildren Elisa and Anthony Keese; Maddy, Shelby, Ella, Isaac, Maria, Raquel and Ja’Michael Ray, her brother John and his wife Janice.
