James Glasgow

James Glasgow, age 73, of Celeste, passed away at the VA Hospital in Dallas, Texas after a lengthy illness. Mr. Glasgow was born in Shadyside, Ohio, on September 10, 1935, to Robert Andrew and Stella Steed Glasgow. They both precede him in death. After high school he joined the United States Air Force and proudly served for more than 10 years. Mr. Glasgow married Mary Alice Gainer and spent the next 52 years together. He worked as an electronics mechanic and attended the Kingston Baptist Church. Mr. Glasgow was a loving family man who was proud of his service to his country and he enjoyed the time he spent outdoors. Mr. Glasgow is survived by his wife, Mary Alice; two sons, James Allen Glasgow and Mike Glasgow; grandchildren, Natasha, Jamie, and Taylor Glasgow, Kristal Wall; great-grandchildren, Kaileigh Swanson, Peyton Madison, Gavin Glasgow, and Kensleigh Wall; two brothers, Bob Glasgow and Dave Carson; and one sister, Jolinda Bundy. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Tom Carson and Phillip Glasgow; one sister, Roberta Starkey; and one grandson, Jeremy Glasgow. Services for Mr. Glasgow will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 11, 2009 at the Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Bradley Edge officiating. Burial will follow at the Merit Cemetery with Don Jerard, Brian Degarso, Jonathon Crumpton, Taylor Glasgow, Jamie Glasgow, and Josh Wall serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6 " 8 P.M., Friday evening at the funeral home.
