Jacqueline Thrower

Jacqueline Sue Thrower, 78; passed peacefully away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 in Garland, Texas. Jackie was born January 14, 1935 to Raymond and Birtie Hamby in Atlanta, Georgia. She is the last of six children born to Ray and Bertie. Jackie would meet and later marry Bobby Joe Thrower in 1952. Jackie was a cosmetic buyer for Weingarten Department Stores in Houston, before moving to Greenville in 1973. Jackie was an avid golfer and volunteer for the Ladies Golf Association; as well as a longtime member of the Webb Hill Country Club. Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Bertie; her husband of 58 years, Bobby Joe and siblings, Betty, Peggy, Sonny, Bobby and Tony. She is survived by son Blake Lyle Thrower and his wife Melinda; daughter, Darlene Vikki Drennan; grandchildren, Natalie Thrower, Brandon Thrower and wife Kristin; Shelton Powell, Shane Powell and Montana Emerson. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2013 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A private burial will be at Memoryland Memorial Park.
