Jack Leach

September 12, 1919 — December 29, 2011

92, passed away peacefully at his home on December 29, 2011. He was born in Wills Point, Texas on September 12, 1919 to Arthur and Amanda Leach. He retired from the Navy as Chief Petty Officer having served in the Pacific submarine fleet during WWII. More recently, he retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Greenville in 1984. Jack loved the outdoors, was an avid golfer and a dedicated husband and father. He is survived by his wife Jean; two sons, Jerry Leach and Peggy Woodard of Greenville, Phillip and Deborah Leach of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three grandchildren, Nate and Katherine Leach of San Antonio, Danny and Jeni Leach of Denton, and Kristen Leach of Colorado Springs. He is preceded in death by both parents and his only two sisters, Lois Gay and Demah Shelton. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 3 at 2:00 pm at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville. Visitation will be held Monday January 2, 2012 from 6 till 8 pm in the Chapel at Peters Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 7 at 1:30 pm in the main sanctuary at Aldersgate Church, 5500 Sayle St, Greenville. All arrangements were made through Peters Funeral Home.
