Gladys Purcell

Gladys Purcell, 78, of Greenville passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015 in Greenville. Funeral service will be 2:00pm Thursday, November 12, at the Lone Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Cook officiating. Burial will follow in East Mount Cemetery under the direction of Peters Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Wednesday, November 11, at Peters Funeral Home, 4201 Wellington. Gladys was born May 31, 1937 in Maryville, TN to James Roberts and Lucille Wright Roberts. She married R.W. "Red" Purcell February 14, 1965 in Denton, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church. Gladys is survived by her loving husband of 50 years Raymond "Red" Purcell of Greenville; daughters Cynthia Phippins and husband Chris of Franklin, VA, Becky Isbell and husband Johnny of Erlanger, KY; son William Purcell of Lacey, WA; grandchildren CJ, Michaela and Robbie Lynn; sisters Kathy Russell and husband Billy of Lone Oak, Sue Shoffner of TN, and Shirley Shannon of TN; brothers Ralph Roberts and wife Ada of TN, and Gary Roberts of GA; numerous step-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
