Geraldine Cline

Geraldine Young Cline, age 75, of Cumby, passed away in the mid-morning hours of Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on August 24, 1935 to William Troy and Flossie Davis Young, they preceded her in death. Geraldine married Billy Wayne Bud Cline in Kaufman, Texas on June 17, 1955. He also preceded her in death on October 6, 2010 after 55 years of marriage. Geraldine worked her life as a mother, grandmother, and homemaker but she never really considered it work. Her greatest joy in life came from her grand babies and Nan, as she was affectionately known, spent her life caring for her children and grandchildren. Those who knew Nan will remember her for her love of animals, fishing, NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt, and most importantly her ability to put up with a lot and keep a smile on her face. Her caring spirit and loving arms will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Geraldine is survived by children, Luther Wayne Cline of Lavon, Kathy Sue Strickland of Cumby, and Shannon Gayle Cline of Cumby; step-daughter, Billie Paulette Eddy of Dallas; grandchildren, Travis, Amanda, Angie, Sarah, Andy, Alicia, and Duane; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby Cutler of Comanche, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her favorite son, Gary Michael Cline; step-father, Richard Davis; and siblings, Clyde, Bob, Trudy, Lois, Florine, Jeannine Marie, and Bobby Ray. A memorial service for Geraldine Cline will be held at a later date.
