Esperanza Hope De Leon

Esperanza "Hope" DeLeon, 82, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026. She was born on September 4, 1943, in Mexico.

Esperanza completed her education in Mexico, where she became a dedicated midwife, helping bring new life into the world with compassion and care. She later made her home in Greenville, Texas, where she built a life centered on hard work and family. She was employed at Haggar’s for 22 years, worked at Lance for 8 years, and served at Greenville Hospital. She took great pride in her work and was known for her strong work ethic and unwavering dedication.

Esperanza was a loving, caring, kind-hearted, and generous woman whose greatest joy in life was her family. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her warmth, compassion, and selfless spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

Some of her family's most treasured memories are the many cookouts they shared together and their frequent trips to IHOP, where laughter and conversation were always plentiful. Her proudest accomplishment was the family she loved so deeply. She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.

Esperanza enjoyed staying busy and found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved dancing, visiting the casino, enjoying coffee and breakfasts at IHOP, playing lotería, and spending time surrounded by the people she loved most. Whether at a family gathering or sharing stories over coffee, she found joy in bringing people together.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Rosalinda Rosales and Raquel DeLeon Scoggins; her cherished grandchildren, Veronica Ramirez, Stephanie Mungia, Joselyn Valladares, Vanessa Ramirez, Victoria Ramirez, Charlie Sanchez, Robert Castillo, Maria DeLeon, Adrian Rangel, Gaby Yanez, and Luis Yanez; her beloved great-grandchildren, Ariana, Anahi, Fabian, Azul,Aydan, Ariel, Mia, Moises, Santiago,Noah, Scarlette, Penelope, Aubrey, Madilynn, and Azalea; and her treasured great-great-grandson, Ezra Martinez.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roberto DeLeon; her son, Rey DeLeon; and her brothers, Elias Hernandez and Jorge DeLeon.

Esperanza leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, hard work, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her kindness, gentle heart, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her, but her memory will live on through the generations of family whose lives she helped shape with her endless love.
