Emilia Amy Kuykendall, age 66, of Greenville, passed away in the late evening hours of Thursday, March 24, 2011 at the Medical Center of Plano with her loving husband by her side. She was born on June 14, 1944 in Alpine, Texas to Torivio and Leonor Rojo Armendariz, they preceded her in death. Amy served her country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. She married Ray Edwin Kuykendall in Lake Worth, TX on October 11, 1991. Amy was an elegant, beautiful woman full of dignity and strength. She loved her family and considered her brothers to be her heroes, even calling for them until her final breath. Although she never had children of her own, Amy adored children. She will be remembered as a trustworthy and loving daughter, wife, sister, aunt, and friend who left a shining example of how to live life for all to follow. Amy is survived by her husband of nearly 20 years, Ray; brothers, Ernesto Armendariz of Roswell, NM, Daniel Armendariz of Plano, and David Armendariz of Roswell; sisters, Alicia Ramirez of Alamogordo, NM, Celia Armendariz of Rowlett, and Elizabeth Fisher of Lawton, Oklahoma; sister and best friend, Linda Armendariz of Roswell; by three generations of nieces and nephews; two step-sons, Clint Kuykendall and Mitch Kuykendall; and sister-in-law, Earlene. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Ruben Armendariz, and one sister, Anita Garcia. Services for Emilia Amy Kuykendall will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Peters Funeral Home in Greenville.
