Elva Tapp

Elva Satterwhite Tapp, 94, went to be with her Lord in the early morning hours of Monday, December 07, 2009 at Hunt Regional Medical Center. She was born on May 2, 1915 in White Oak, TX to George David and Molly Naomi McQueen Satterwhite. She married William Glen Tapp, Sr. on December 25, 1938 and enjoyed 63 years of marriage before Mr. Tapp passed away in 2001. She was a teacher of 44 years, spending most of those years in LaMarque ISD, and substituted all over Hunt County after her retirement. She was active in the First Baptist Church in each town she lived in and taught Sunday school for many years, and most recently at First Baptist Church of Cash, where she attended until three weeks before her death. She will be remembered as a loving and supportive Christian believer. Ms. Tapp is survived by her son and daughter in law, William and Charlene Tapp of Canyon Lake, TX, and her sister, Grace Sampson of Canyon, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and four sisters. Services for Ms. Tapp will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 9 at Peters Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Combs officiating. Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be held prior one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Cash or your favorite charity.
