Elias Manrique Hernandez

Elias Manrique Hernandez, born on July 12, 1941, passed away on February 10, 2026. He lived a life dedicated to his work and his family. For many years, he was employed by the City of Greenville Water Department, where he made many contributions to the local community.

Elias had a strong connection to the land and enjoyed doing ranch and agricultural labor. His hands were often busy with work that he loved, embodying the spirit of dedication and hard work.

A beloved father and grandfather, Elias cherished his family deeply. He was particularly fond of his baby, "Hope," whom he cared for with great affection right until his final moments.

Elias is survived by his daughters, Martha Elena Hernandez Garcia and Mary Hope Hernandez, as well as his granddaughter, Mayaly Natali Flores Hernandez. He also leaves behind his sister, Esperanza DeLeon, and several nieces: Laura Villalpando, Maria Aguilera, Lilia Estrada, Olivia DeLeon, Rosalinda Rosales, and Raquel DeLeon.  Elias was preceded in death by Nancy Hernandez, wife.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at Peters Funeral Home in Greenville on February 13, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service will follow, beginning at 10:00 AM. The interment will take place at IOOF Caddo Mills at 11:00 AM, concluding at noon that same day.

Elias's life was marked by love for his family and a commitment to hard work, and he will be remembered fondly by those who knew him.
