Edwin Putman

E.L. Putman, 90, of Alba passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016 at his residence. Funeral Service will be held 10:00am Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Al Mitchell and Chaplin Dennis Hogan officiating. Burial will follow at Donnelton Cemetery, with Tommy Jenkins, Larry Jenkins, Jimmy Jenkins, Willard Jenkins, Ricky Richardson, and Ron Sheaner will be serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Tuesday November 1, 2016 at Peters Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 8:00pm.

E.L. was born September 29, 1926 in Newsome, Texas to Clarance P. and Ester Mae Putman. He was married to his loving wife Mary Putman for over 50 years; she precedes him in death. E.L. was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, he also served in WWII with the United States Army.

Those left to cherish his memory are children; Bobby Putman and wife Sally of Alba, TX, Shelia Mitchell and husband Al of Emory, TX, Deborah Gray and husband Mike, of Alba, TX, and Glen Putman of Lake Fork, TX; 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother David Putman.
