Douglas Marlar

Douglas Bryan Marlar, 81, of Greenville, passed away Sunday, December4, 2016 in Greenville. Douglas was born August 31, 1935 in Greenville to William Bryan and Violet Irene Davie Marlar. Funeral service will be 2:00pm Friday, December 9, 2016, at Peters Funeral Home Chapel, Interment will follow at Tidwell Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, at Peters Funeral Home.

Douglas is survived by his son Darin Marlar his wife Jill Klue Marlar and sons, Mathew, Tyler and Sydney Behrens; Son, Randy Lee Carlton and grandson Randy Lee Carlton II; sister Gladys Arnwine; Nephews, Larry Marlar, Joey Marlar, Ralph Dunton, Jeff Arnwine and Jimmy Don Lanley; nieces Shirley Duran, Kim Marlar Stepens, Debbie Marlar Rushing, Becky Marlar Vzark, LeighAnn Marlar Noll and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Douglas was employed for more than 14 years as a stock clerk with LTV in Greenville and later with KAS Construction in Dallas building schools and churches. He had a strong relationship with God and enjoyed reading Bible scriptures and sharing what he learned with others.

Douglas is preceded in death by brothers Wayland Louis Marlar, Wallace D. Marlar, Forest Marlar, Curtis Wayne Marlar and sister Cecil Rae Marlar Langley
