Dorsey Erwin

91 of Campbell Texas passed away November 7, 2011 surrounded by his family in Greenville. He was born December 02, 1919 the son of Jess Phillip and Ollie Bell (Collins) Erwin in Denison. He was married to Virginia Mae for 56 wonderful years and served in the military for 32 years in the United States Air Force. He is survived by two daughters, Lou Jan Kaufman and Ruth Gail Purvis; one son, Gerald Erwin; three sisters, Thelma Armstrong, Florine Banspach and Anita Daniel; two brothers, J.P. Erwin and James Erwin; six grandchildren, Kevin Wilson, Barry Purvis, David Kaufman, James Purvis, Jessica Sudderth and Erin Kaufman; five great-great grandchildren, Cliffton Real, Shenale Denton, Stephanie Kaufman, Tyler Kaufman and Logan Sudderth and numerous other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Jess and Ollie Erwin, wife Virginia; three brothers, Johnnie Erwin, Glen Erwin and Fred Erwin; and two sisters, Frances Bermes and Maurine Brown. His funeral service will be Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 11:15 AM graveside at DFW National Memorial Cemetery in Dallas Texas. Viewing will be held Wednesday night from 6 to 8 PM in the Chapel at Peters Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice or your favorite charity.
