Donna Byrd

Donna Marie Byrd, age 50, of Blue Ridge, passed away in the late evening hours of Monday, December 13, 2010 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. She was born on February 5, 1960 in Minden, LA to John William and Edna (Hamil) Byrd. Donna dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. She loved to cook and would always lend an ear to those in need, whether they wanted her to or not. Mrs. Byrd was a strong willed woman who took pride in the simple things in life and she enjoyed living in the country. Her loving spirit and caring personality will live on in the lives of those she knew and loved. Donna is survived by her children, Jason Michael Byrd of Phoenix, AZ, Anthony Byrd of Clinton, OK, Andrea Marie Gonzalez of McKinney, Charlene Thomas of Blue Ridge, and Blake Pryor of Blue Ridge; brothers, Mark Byrd of Emory, Tommy Byrd of Arkansas, and Johnny Byrd of Greenville; sisters, Belinda Strickland of Greenville, Sue Hourihan of Corsicana, and Connie Byrd of Lone Oak; and by eight grandchildren. Mrs. Byrd was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Byrd, and by a niece, Marcy Byrd. A memorial service will be held at 10 A.M., Friday, December 17, 2010 at Peters Funeral Home in Greenville.
