Donald Swatek

Donald Gene Swatek, 78 of Greenville, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 24, 2015. Donald was born on October 12, 1936 to Harry and Lorraine Swatek in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He would meet and later marry Joy Howell. To this union were born five daughter, Karen, Sherri, Traci, Donna and LaDonna. Donald would work as a drafting engineer for GEUS before retiring in the late 1990s. Donald loved hunting, deep sea fishing and raising horses. But his greatest passion was for his family. He adored his wife and children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with them. His open heart and compassionate spirit will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Lorraine Swatek; his beloved wife Joy Swatek; his daughters, Donna Swatek and LaDonna Swatek; brother, Ray Swatek; sister, Roseanne Yeakley. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Karen Goss (Steve), Sherri Green, Traci Swatek-Rice (David); grandchildren, Natalie Goss, Dustin Goss, Randy Bevill (Patricia), Brandon Green, Bailey Green, Derek Rice and Ryan Rice; great-grandchildren, Evan Green, Peyton White; brother, Harry Swatek; sister, Mary Henderson; as well as numerous extended family, friends and neighbors. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, June 29, 2015 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held the same day, Monday, June 29, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Reverend Kelly Reagan will officiate. A reception will be held for the family and friends at North Baptist Church, 808 Wright Street, Greenville, Texas immediately after the service. Everyone is welcome to join them.
